What is LeadSigma?
LeadSigma is a sales pipeline management platform that organizes and prioritizes leads. It includes a dashboard, a daily updated task list, and metrics such as conversion rate and pipeline value.
Project Brief
LeadSigma tasked us with designing a web app that would be used for their first launch. We had to follow constraints set by stakeholders and complete the first version within four weeks.
Roles & Responsibilities
UX/UI Designer on a team of four UX/UI Designers, working for LeadSigma.
Led the storyboarding for the product and did light user research.
Contributed to the creation of the personas.
Created sketches, wireframes, and prototypes of key screens.
Facilitated stakeholder communication and feedback.
Design a web app that enables our users to manage and prioritize their business’ leads.
My Process
Understand the experience through storyboarding
Create personas to empathize with our users and define needs
Generate sketches and wireframes to elicit feedback
Design a high fidelity prototype to handoff to engineering
A storyboard helps us identify key moments in the experience of a salesperson managing and prioritizing leads.
A salesperson gets a call from someone who is interested in their products.
They discuss what products the business has and the person shows interest, but doesn’t buy.
Two weeks go by and the salesperson just remembered they need to follow up with the lead.
The salesperson thinks they found the right number of the lead they talked to, but there was no answer.
The boss is worried about the business because they’re starting to lose customers due to lack of organization.
The storyboard created a shared vision and understanding with stakeholders. It also defined pain points that we could address in the app.
Taking a call
Automatically log the incoming call and save to the web app.
Saving information
A note taking tool that allows the salesperson to save information.
Following up
A task list that automatically creates a task sequence for following up.
Closing more deals
After following up with the lead, there is a higher chance of a closed deal.
Based on the storyboard, we identified the 3 main participants of the story. We created proto-personas that kept us focused on user needs over features.
Sam - Salesperson
Lynn - Lead
Fredrick - Boss
For each proto-persona, we identified what they need to accomplish with the web app, how they should feel, and any other considerations.
Sam needs to accomplish…
quickly adding new inbound leads to the system
adding any important notes from conversations
following up with leads consistently
closing deals for the business
Sam needs to feel…
confident when talking with leads
not overwhelmed with following up
knowledgable in their daily workflow
not worried about having enough sales
The pipeline screen allows the sales person and business owner to see the most important metrics and manage their leads.
The Leads tab helps the user manage all of leads in the pipeline in one place.
Important metrics show the user how they’ve been doing over the last month.
A pipeline value graph shows how their value has changed over time.
Results
A MVP for a web app that meets both user and stakeholder needs.
Defined requirements for the engineering team to begin development of the first version.
The engineering has completed this first version of the app and has since added additional features.
The sales team was able to raise the first $725k funding round using this product.
Customers have begun using the platform and providing feedback for improvements.
